Along the back wall of the birdroom there is a bank of 44 breeding cages, I use the all wire type with plastic tray for catching spent seed and droppings.
I find this type cage easy to keep clean and
with the all wire floor, keeps the birds away from
the above.
I use a desk type nest box( inside the cage )
The water is filtered and changed each day ,
on warm days the water is changed twice.

Here I have one of my flights itmeasures
3.5 m x 2 m, this picture was taken before the birds were introduced, it is now full.
As you can see I use Strip lighting which is on at 7.30am and off at 10.30pm.
And yes that is in fact a cooker hood which filters the air and also has the added bonus of a night light.
This is a block of nine conventional cages I find that some hens prefer this type of cage. The nest-box is wooden and is attached inside the cage to the roof, the old perches from our show cages are fixed to the back of the cage outside the box.
I also have fitted cupboards below for storage.
This picture shows my other flight it measures 4 m x 2 m , it is well stocked
I have not thought about an outside flight as of yet , there is a large amount of wild birds that live in the area along with a family of Buzzards, ( good enough reason )
This is the other side of the block of nine conventional cages, here I use an outside
nest box which is in actual fact PVC,havent tried them as of yet but will be soon .
This block also has cupboards for storage
This is the weaning cages, I have three of these but need more, I intend to get another three on a stand and casters that can be moved easily.
